PhotoSafe Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 29 October 2025
Effective Date: 1 October 2018

PhotoSafe is a tool for encrypting and storing photos and videos. This Privacy Policy is formulated in accordance with applicable data protection standards. It explains how PhotoSafe processes information related to its services and what rights you have to control your data. Through this Policy, we will clearly inform you of the following key content to help you understand the information processing rules that apply to you:

  1. Specify the types of information involved in the service and the processing methods, so you can understand the logical relationship between features and information.
  2. When using certain features, you must grant iOS system permissions (such as access to the photo library, biometric authentication). These permissions are controlled independently by you in your device settings. Refusing permission will only affect the use of the corresponding feature and will not interfere with the normal operation of other key features.

1. Information We Process

When you use PhotoSafe’s services, to provide stable services and optimise your user experience, we only process the “minimum scope of information necessary to implement features”. All information is processed locally on your device and not stored on the developer’s servers. Details are as follows:

1.1 Information Related to Key Features

To ensure the app operates normally, maintain service stability, and resolve issues, we temporarily process the following information locally on your device (no storage or upload after processing):

  1. Device model, operating system version, and PhotoSafe version number (used to adjust feature compatibility across different devices).
  2. Network connection method and status (used to determine support for features such as Wi-Fi file transfer).
  3. Operation logs and service error logs (only record feature usage behaviour, excluding photo and video content — used to identify and resolve issues).

This type of information does not include personal identifiers such as name, phone number, or email address. It only exists temporarily on your device while you use the app.

1.2 Information Related to Third-Party Services

PhotoSafe is integrated with compliant third-party services. These services may process relevant information to implement their own features, and their processing behaviour is governed by independent privacy policies. The developer does not access or store information processed by third parties:

  1. Admob (advertising service): May process device identifiers and system versions to display ads. You can control the processing scope by disabling “Ad Tracking” in your device settings. For more details, see the Official Admob Privacy Policy.
  2. Firebase (crash reporting service): May process crash logs (excluding photo and video content) to resolve app issues. For more details, see the Official Firebase Privacy Policy.
  3. Cloud services (e.g., iCloud, Dropbox): To use backup features, you can independently authorise cloud services to process encrypted photo and video files. The developer does not participate in or store backup data. For more details, see the official privacy policy of each cloud service.

1.3 Data Interaction for Static Recommendation Lists

PhotoSafe retrieves a “static recommendation list of other apps from the same developer” (containing only app names, icons, and official download links) from the server. During this interaction, only the status “whether the list loaded successfully or not” is sent to the server (no personal information included), and the server does not store this status data.

1.4 Cases of Processing Without Permission

In accordance with applicable data protection principles and industry standards, necessary information may be processed without your permission in the following special cases:

  1. Directly related to public safety or important public interests.
  2. Directly related to judicial procedures such as criminal investigation, prosecution, trial, and enforcement of judgments.
  3. Necessary to protect the legitimate rights and interests of yourself or others (e.g., life, property) when obtaining personal permission is difficult.
  4. Personal information you have voluntarily disclosed to the public.
  5. Information obtained from legally published sources (e.g., compliant news reports, published government information).
  6. Necessary to maintain the safe and stable operation of the app (e.g., detecting and resolving issues).
  7. Other cases that comply with data protection principles and industry standards.

2. Information Storage

2.1 Local Storage as the Primary Method

Your photos, videos, and app setting data (e.g., password configuration, album categorisation) are all stored exclusively on your device. The developer does not store this information on any servers, reducing security risks associated with server-based data storage.

2.2 Notes on Third-Party Cloud Backups

If you choose to use third-party cloud services (e.g., iCloud, Dropbox) for data backup, the relevant files will be stored by the cloud service provider in accordance with its privacy policy. You can independently control backup data (e.g., view, delete, or export backups) via the official channels of the cloud service. The PhotoSafe developer does not participate in the storage or management of backup data.

3. Your Rights to Control Information

Since your photos, videos, and permissions are controlled locally by the iOS system or the PhotoSafe app, the developer does not access or store your personal information. You can independently manage your relevant rights through the following methods:

  1. Permission control: At any time, you can enable or disable permissions (e.g., access to the photo library, camera, biometric authentication) in “Settings > PhotoSafe” on your device. Disabling permissions only affects the corresponding feature and not other features.
  2. Data management: Delete locally stored photos and videos directly within the app, or clear all local app data via “Settings > Data Management”. *Warning: Deleted data cannot be recovered.*
  3. Third-party service control: Disable “Ad Tracking” in your device settings to control information processing by Admob, or unlink your account from the official cloud service platform to stop backup data processing.
  4. Right to information and objection: If you have questions about information processing logic, contact us via the methods specified in Chapter 9 of this Policy. We will help you understand the rules governing the relationship between features and information.

4. Information Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your local information:

  1. App login passwords are encrypted and stored via iOS Keychain. Biometric information (Touch ID/Face ID) is only verified by the iOS system — the developer does not access original biometric data.
  2. The app’s access to local device files is limited to reading and writing files related to PhotoSafe’s features. It cannot access other irrelevant data.

*Important Note*: The security of information processed by third-party services (e.g., Admob, cloud services) is the exclusive responsibility of the respective service provider. For details on protection measures, see their official privacy policies:

5. Use of Information

5.1 Scope of Use by the Developer

The following basic information is only used locally on your device and not transmitted or shared with third parties:

  1. Device model and system version: Used to adjust feature compatibility (e.g., photo previews, video playback).
  2. Operation logs and error logs: Used to identify and resolve in-app issues (e.g., failed photo imports, album sorting errors).
  3. Feature usage logs: Used to optimise interface layout (e.g., placing frequently used features in more visible positions).

5.2 Scope of Use by Third Parties

Information processed by third parties is only used for specific purposes:

  1. Admob: Only for displaying ads.
  2. Firebase: Only for analysing and fixing crashes.
  3. Cloud services: Only for backup and data recovery features.

Information usage rules are established independently by third parties, and the developer does not participate in this process.

6. Disclosure of Information to Third Parties

Since the developer does not store your personal information, there are no scenarios where we will disclose your information to third parties. If information disclosure becomes necessary in the future due to business adjustments, we will take the following actions:

  1. Inform you in detail in advance via in-app pop-ups, email, or other channels.
  2. Obtain your explicit consent.
  3. Require the receiving party to comply with data protection rules.

We will only assist in providing the “minimum scope of information necessary to meet the request” when there are legal requirements (e.g., investigation documents legally issued by judicial authorities) and relevant information is involved. However, since the developer does not store user data, such scenarios rarely occur in practice.

7. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may modify this Privacy Policy in response to updates to data protection standards or adjustments to business features. After modification:

  1. A pop-up will appear when you log in to the app or update its version, showing the modified content and key changes.
  2. The modified Policy will only take effect for you after you click “Agree”.
  3. If you do not agree to the changes, you can stop using PhotoSafe’s services, and we will also stop processing your new information.

8. Protection of Minors’ Data

We prioritise the protection of minors’ data (individuals under 18 years old). If you are a minor, use this service only under the supervision of your parents or legal guardians. If parents or guardians have questions about data processing when minors use the service, they can contact us via the methods below — we will help explain the relevant rules.

9. Contact Us

If you need advice on data control rules or want to provide feedback on app feature issues, please send an email to awfsksk@gmail.com.
We will reply to your email within 5 working days and help resolve your issue.
