Privacy Policy for MyNotesSafe (UK English Version)

Last Updated : 29 October 2025

Effective Date : 1 October 2018

MyNotesSafe is a note-taking tool. This Policy is developed based on applicable laws, regulations and industry privacy protection standards. It explains how MyNotesSafe collects, uses and stores your personal information, as well as the rights you have under the law. We will clearly communicate the core content below through this Policy to help you understand the personal information management rules that apply to you:i. We will specify the types of personal information collected and their corresponding purposes of use, so you understand why and how we collect specific information for certain functions;ii. When using some functions, we will only collect your personal information after obtaining your explicit consent. For example, to use the “Scheduled Reminder” function of MyNotesSafe, we will request permission to access your Calendar; to use the “FaceID Password” function, we will request permission to access FaceID. Unless the law requires you to provide this information, refusing to do so will only affect the use of the function linked to this information and will not prevent you from using other core functions of MyNotesSafe.

Chapter 1: Information We Collect

When you use MyNotesSafe’s services, to provide you with stable services, improve your user experience and ensure information security, we only collect “the minimum amount of information necessary to perform functions”. Details are as follows:

1.1 Information Required for Basic Functions

To ensure the app operates normally, maintain service stability and fix errors, we collect the following information: your device model, operating system version, unique device identifier (used only to adapt functions for different devices, not linked to your personal identity), MyNotesSafe version number, network access method and status, operation logs and service error logs (excluding the content of your notes). This information is basic data for providing MyNotesSafe services and does not include information that can directly identify your personal identity (such as name, phone number, email address).

1.2 Information Collected by Third-Party Services

MyNotesSafe integrates third-party services that comply with regulations. These services may collect relevant information to perform their own functions. Their collection behaviour is governed by independent privacy policies; MyNotesSafe does not receive or store this information:

  • Admob (Advertising Service) : To display ads tailored to your needs, Admob may collect device identifiers and basic device information (such as system version). You can disable “Ad Tracking” in your device settings to stop the collection of information related to personalised ads. For details on its privacy rules, see Admob’s Official Privacy Policy;
  • Firebase (Error Analysis and Statistics Service) : To quickly fix app errors and improve function experience, Firebase may collect error logs (excluding the content of your notes) and app usage data (such as number of launches, frequency of function use). For details on its privacy rules, see Firebase’s Official Privacy Policy.

1.3 Information Interaction for Static Recommendation Lists

MyNotesSafe obtains a “static recommendation list of other apps owned by us” from its own server. The content of the list only includes app names, icons and official download links, and does not contain any personal information.During this process, only the “list loading status” (e.g., “whether loading was successful”) is sent to the server. No sensitive data such as device identifiers or IP addresses is transmitted, and the server does not store this status. This ensures that information interaction is limited to “function requirements”.

1.4 Situations Where Collection is Permitted Without Consent

Based on applicable laws, regulations and industry standards, in the following special situations, we may collect and process your relevant personal information without obtaining your consent:

  1. Directly related to national interests such as national security and national defence;
  2. Directly related to legal procedures such as criminal investigations, prosecutions, trials and enforcement of judgments;
  3. Necessary to protect important legal interests of you or others (such as the right to life, property, reputation) when it is difficult to obtain the individual’s consent;
  4. Personal information you have voluntarily disclosed to the public;
  5. Information collected from legitimate public sources (such as news reports that comply with rules, official government announcements);
  6. Necessary to enter into and/or perform a contract to which you are a party;
  7. Necessary to maintain the safe and stable operation of provided products or services (such as detecting and fixing product or service errors);
  8. Necessary for legitimate news reporting;
  9. Necessary for statistical or academic research in the public interest, and when research results or descriptions are provided to external parties, the personal information contained therein is processed to remove identity identifiers;
  10. Other situations specified by law.

Chapter 2: Information Storage

  1. Priority of Local Storage : The content of your notes and app setting data are all stored locally only on your device. MyNotesSafe does not store any user data on its own server, avoiding security risks caused by storing data on servers;
  2. Explanation of Backups to Third-Party Cloud Storage : If you choose to back up data via third-party cloud storage (such as Dropbox, Google Drive), the relevant data will be stored and managed by the corresponding cloud service provider in accordance with its privacy policy. MyNotesSafe does not receive or manage this backup data, and you can independently control the data through official cloud service channels (such as viewing, deleting, exporting backups).

Chapter 3: Your Privacy Rights

Based on applicable laws and regulations, you have the following privacy rights, which you can exercise through the contact methods specified in Chapter 9 of this Policy:

  1. Right to Be Informed : The right to request us to explain the scope of personal information collection, purposes of use and processing methods;
  2. Right of Access : The right to obtain a copy of your personal information collected by us (within the scope permitted by law);
  3. Right to Erasure : The right to request the erasure of your personal information collected by us (data not required for storage, such as historical operation logs);
  4. Right to Withdraw Consent : The right to withdraw consent for the collection of a specific type of information at any time (withdrawal of consent does not affect the legality of information processing activities based on your previous consent);
  5. Right to Object : The right to object to the purposes and methods of personal information processing, as well as to provide opinions and request a review.

Chapter 4: Information Security

We implement security measures that comply with industry standards to protect your information, including data encryption, access rights control and regular security checks. These measures prevent information leakage, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure. However, it should be noted that the security of information from third-party services (such as Admob, cloud storage) is the responsibility of those third parties. For details on relevant protection measures, see the official privacy policies of third-party providers.

Chapter 5: How We Use Information

  1. Scope of Our Use : MyNotesSafe only uses the collected basic information for the following purposes, without exceeding “function requirements”:
    • Ensure the app operates normally (e.g., adapting function compatibility to the device model);
    • Fix function errors (e.g., identifying issues through operation logs);
    • Improve user experience (e.g., adapting interface layout to functions frequently used by users);
  2. Scope of Use by Third Parties : Information collected by Admob is only used for ad delivery; information collected by Firebase is only used for error analysis and usage statistics. Their usage rules are developed independently by third parties, and MyNotesSafe does not participate in the information usage process of third parties.

Chapter 6: Disclosure of Information to Third Parties

  1. Currently, we do not share or transfer your personal information to third parties automatically or without your consent. If other situations require the sharing or transfer of your personal information, or if you request us to distribute your personal information to third parties, we will either directly obtain your explicit consent or verify that the third party has already obtained your explicit consent for the sharing or transfer of this personal information;
  2. We do not publicly disclose collected personal information. If we need to publicly disclose this information, we will inform you of the purpose of disclosure, the types of information to be disclosed and the sensitive data that may be involved, and obtain your explicit consent.

Chapter 7: Policy Updates

We may update this Policy periodically. When changes are made to the terms of this Policy, you will see the updated version through push notifications and/or pop-up windows when you log in or update the app version. Note: We will only follow the updated Policy to collect, use and store your personal information after you click the “Accept” button in the pop-up window.

Chapter 8: Protection of Minors’ Information

We attach great importance to the protection of minors’ personal information. If you are under 18 years old, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, you must obtain written consent from your parents or legal guardians before using MyNotesSafe’s services. If you are the legal guardian of a minor and have questions about the minor’s personal information, you can contact us.

Chapter 9: Contact Us

If you have complaints, suggestions or other questions, you can also send your enquiries to the email address awfsksk@gmail.com. We will review your enquiry and respond to you as soon as possible.
