Privacy Policy for MyNotesSafe
Last Updated: November 10, 2025
Effective Date: October 1, 2018
MyNotesSafe is a note-taking application. We value the importance of personal information and are committed to explaining how we handle your data in a clear and transparent manner.
Please first note the most important point: All your note content and app settings are stored solely on your own device. We do not have any servers that store this core data.
1. Information We Collect
We adhere to the “principle of minimum necessity,” collecting only the information essential for ensuring the basic operation of the App and optimizing the user experience.
1.1 Information Necessary for Basic Functions:
To ensure the normal operation of the App, maintain service stability, and troubleshoot malfunctions, we automatically collect some anonymous technical information. This includes: device model, operating system version, MyNotesSafe version number, network access method and status, operation logs, and service failure logs (Please note that these logs do not include any content of your notes). This type of information is the basic data necessary to provide the service and cannot be used to directly identify your personal identity.
1.2 Information Collected by Third-Party Services:
MyNotesSafe integrates the following third-party services. To enable their own functionalities, these services may collect relevant information, and their collection practices are governed by their respective independent privacy policies:
- Admob (Advertising Service): To display personalized ads, Admob may collect your device identifiers (such as IDFA for iOS devices), device model, and other information. You can restrict ad tracking in your device’s system settings. Please see the Admob Official Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
- Firebase (Crash Analytics & Statistics Service): To help us quickly diagnose app crash reasons and analyze anonymized usage statistics (such as feature usage frequency), Firebase may collect crash reports (excluding note content) and basic device information. Please see the Firebase Privacy Policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
We hereby explicitly state: We cannot access, obtain, or store any data collected by Admob and Firebase.
1.3 Permissions for Specific Features:
When you use certain specific features, we will request the relevant system permissions after obtaining your consent:
- “Scheduled Reminder” feature: Requires access to your Calendar permissions.
- “Face ID Password” feature: Requires access to your Face ID permissions.
You have the right to deny these permissions. Doing so will only prevent the corresponding feature from working and will not affect your normal use of all other features of the App.
1.4 Circumstances Where Consent Is Not Required:
In accordance with relevant laws and regulations, we may collect or process your information without obtaining your prior consent in the following limited and necessary circumstances:
- Directly related to national interests such as national security and national defense security;
- Directly related to major public interests such as public safety, public health, and significant public welfare;
- Directly related to judicial or law enforcement proceedings such as criminal investigation, prosecution, trial, and execution of judgments;
- Where it is necessary to protect the life, property, or other significant legitimate rights and interests of you or other individuals, but it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person;
- Where the personal information has been disclosed to the public by yourself;
- Where the personal information is collected from legally publicly disclosed information;
- Where necessary for the conclusion or performance of a contract at your request;
- Where necessary to maintain the safe and stable operation of the provided products or services, for example, to detect and handle product or service failures;
- Other circumstances stipulated by laws and regulations.
2. Storage of Information:
- Local Storage: Your note content, app settings, and all other core personal data are stored only locally on your device. We do not operate our own servers to store this data.
- Third-Party Cloud Backup: If you choose to back up data using third-party cloud services such as iCloud or Google Drive, the relevant data will be stored on the servers of the respective service provider and governed by its privacy policy. We do not participate in this process and cannot access your backed-up data.
3. Information Security:
We take reasonable technical measures to protect the basic log information we collect. At the same time, it is important to note:
- Your core note data is stored locally on the device, and its security largely depends on your device’s own security settings (such as system screen lock passwords, biometric locks, etc.).
- We do not implement additional encryption processing on the note data stored locally.
4. Use of Information:
- We ourselves use the collected basic technical information only for the following purposes: ensuring the normal operation of the App, troubleshooting and fixing functional errors, and optimizing the overall service experience.
- Functions such as ad delivery and detailed data analysis are provided by the aforementioned third-party services (AdMob, Firebase). The rules governing their use of information are subject to their official policies.
5. Your Privacy Rights:
You have the following statutory rights regarding your personal information and can make requests to us via the contact method in Chapter 8 of this Policy:
- Right to Know and Consent: You have the right to know and control how we collect and use your information.
- Right to Access, Correct, and Delete: You have the right to access and obtain a copy of your personal information held by us (to the extent permitted by law) and to request the correction or deletion of non-essential data.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw your consent to the processing of your information at any time.
We will respond to your requests within a reasonable timeframe.
6. Policy Updates:
We may revise this Policy as laws and regulations update or our business adjusts. If the updates substantially impact your rights, we will notify you through prominent methods like pop-up windows the next time you start the App. Your continued use will be deemed as acceptance of the updated Policy.
7. Protection of Minors’ Information:
We highly value the protection of minors’ personal information.
- If you are a child under the age of 13, you must use our services under the guidance and with the consent of your parent or guardian. If we discover that we have collected a child’s personal information without verifiable parental consent, we will endeavor to delete such data promptly.
- If you are a minor aged 13 or older, we recommend that you read this Policy with your guardian and use our services after obtaining their consent.
